CJM Study Centre
CJM Study Centre was started by Empacs Charitable Society after recognizing the need for quality education at affordable fees among the poorer sections of society in Bangalore city. The Study Centre located in Kathalipalya, serves children from the marginalised communities residing in Jeevanahalli, Byappanahalli and Kathalipalya.

EDUCATING THE WEAKEST SECTIONS OF SOCIETY
The parents of most of the students are daily wage earners, domestic helpers, migrant labourers, grave diggers, drivers, watchmen and similar low earning income groups. In fact, most of our students are first-generation school goers.

The school started in 2008-09 with 10 students. Over the past decade, it has grown substantially imparting education to almost 100 students each year. The Centre has classes from nursery to Grade 5 (NIOS level B). CJMSC is accredited by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) which gives us the freedom to choose a curriculum that evokes a love of learning and also equips the students with the required life skills.
The centre follows CBSE Curriculum, which enables the students to choose between Karnataka state, CBSE, or ICSE boards after they leave this school. We conduct remedial classes and 1:1 classes with volunteer support to improve the skills of academically weak students.

"My son and daughter could not speak Kannada and Hindi before they joined CJMSC. Now they recite rhymes in Kannada and Hindi. Even during Covid pandemic time the school distributed worksheets and videos to the children and monitored their progress. I appreciate the personal attention my children are receiving from the teachers here"

FOCUSING ON WHOLE PERSON DEVELOPMENT
Along with academics, the school also focuses on the physical, mental, social, spiritual and moral development of our students. To ensure this, the school regularly conducts various competitions such as masquerades, handwriting, drawing and painting competitions, morals and values classes and tests, and sport competitions.
CJMSC recognises that each child born in India has a right to quality secular education. It upholds the values of compassion and equality, thereby creating opportunities that enable these children to reach their true potential and to be achievers and leaders who can lead India to great heights and become pillars of Indian society.
