ree

An NGO for the rehabilitation of women with disabilities, RAWWDABLE organised an aids and appliances distribution camp for the students of Ashraya.

On November 8 prosthetists and orthotists, technicians, and a program manager from the organisation had assessed all students at Ashraya for foot and leg deformities.

The organisation identified 26 students with foot impairment challenges ranging from mild to moderate levels. After the assessment, aids and appliances were recommended for  the 26 students.

With the permission and involvement of parents eight students were sponsored by RAWWDABLE for the Appliances. On Jan 17 2024 the RAWWDABLE team took the measurements of each student.

On February 14 they did a fitting trial of the appliances. And on February 28 the aids and appliances were distributed to the students. These aids and appliances help the child in gaining the right balance while walking, while ensuring correct gait, posture, and correcting flat feet to avoid secondary problems.

Parents had to provide a request letter with documents. Only eight parents gave the letter within time and RAWWDABLE sponsored them.

Ashraya is looking to raise sponsorship for the others and sponsors are welcome to contact the head of the institution.
